Dedicated Windows Server – Your Infrastructure, Your Rules
Windows Server 2019, 2022, or 2025 on exclusive dedicated cores — no shared resources, no trade-offs.
Ideal for MSSQL databases, .NET applications, and secure Remote Desktop Services.
Full administrator access, SLA-backed availability, and direct support included.
Core Licensing & Pricing Model
Windows Server licensing follows a transparent model: the base fee of $40.00 already covers up to 8 CPU cores — servers with 4 or 6 cores are included in this tier as well. For high-performance systems, we charge only $8.00 per 2 additional cores. This ensures costs scale linearly with the actual power of your dedicated server. While 8–10 cores are sufficient for web services, we recommend 16 cores or more for database workloads (MSSQL).
Which license for what?
4–10 Cores — Web Servers & Active Directory
Ideal for hosting websites, IIS, DNS/DHCP, and small business file sharing.
Recommended for:Servers with 4–10 cores, small teams, dev environments, staging servers
16 Cores — MSSQL & Remote Desktop Servers
Handles demanding database workloads and multi-user RDP sessions simultaneously.
Recommended for:ERP clients, CRM systems, shared developer workstations
36 Cores — Enterprise ERP & Virtualization
Full Hyper-V support, large-scale SQL clusters, and heavy concurrent workloads.
Recommended for:Enterprise applications, Hyper-V hosts, high-traffic production systems

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Windows Server licensing on dedicated hardware.
Windows Server comes in three current releases, each suited to different needs:
- 2019 — Proven and stable. Best for long-term deployments that prioritize reliability over new features.
- 2022 — The recommended choice. Adds Secured-core security, TLS 1.3 by default, and SMB compression.
- 2025 — The latest release. Built for hybrid cloud, NVMe storage performance, and next-generation security.
If you're unsure, Windows Server 2022 is the sweet spot for the majority of use cases.
The right version depends on the workload you're running:
- Web hosting, Active Directory, file servers → Windows Server 2019 or 2022 (4–10 cores)
- MSSQL databases, Remote Desktop Services → Windows Server 2022, 16 cores recommended
- Hyper-V, large ERP systems, hybrid cloud → Windows Server 2025, 36 cores recommended
Windows Server Standard is licensed per physical CPU core. The base license covers up to 8 cores at $40/month — servers with 4 or 6 cores are included in this tier. For every additional 2 cores beyond 8, you pay $8/month on top — so costs scale directly and transparently with your server's power.
- 4–8 cores → $40.00/month (base)
- 10 cores → $48.00/month
- 16 cores → $64.00/month
- 36 cores → $144.00/month
Yes. If your dedicated server has more physical cores available than your current license covers, you can upgrade the license to unlock them. Simply contact our support team and we will adjust your license to the new core count — you only pay the difference from the next billing cycle.
No, the Windows Server license is an optional add-on billed separately from your dedicated server hardware. This gives you full flexibility to choose the version and core count that fits your needs, without being locked into a bundled package.
Windows Server Standard includes 2 remote administration sessions via RDP by default. If you need more concurrent users, you will need Remote Desktop Services (RDS) Client Access Licenses (CALs) — these are Microsoft licenses that you purchase independently. For multi-user environments, Windows Server 2022 with 16 cores is the recommended foundation.
Absolutely. Windows Server runs any Windows-compatible software, including popular game server applications like Minecraft, ARK, or custom backends. For homelabs, it's an excellent environment to learn Active Directory, Hyper-V, or .NET development — and the base license at $40/month is a cost-effective way to get started.
